"Laurie was by my side from moment one of labor until my baby's first breath and cries. She brought me water and food, she rubbed my toes and even massaged away a headache that tylenol wouldn't touch. She did everything from pace with me during labor and breathe with me through the contractions to being my personal secretary; warding off visitors when I needed a break, answering my cell phone, and giving messages to friends/family, nurses, midwives. Laurie did everything someone would expect and hope from a Doula, but she did so much more than that too. She was a solid rock that never left my side, she got me through the moments I wasn't sure I could, she held my hand and pulled my hair out of my eyes, she showed me my own strengths when I thought I wasn't strong enough, she believed in me and my ability to birth my child in the way that I felt was best. When I think about the labor and birth of my child, I will always carry the memory of having someone there with me that was my back bone when I needed her to be, someone that made the experience not only bearable, but beautiful and unforgettable. "Laurie is awesome! From the first time we sat down and talked about having her support our labor, I felt at ease with Laurie. She talked about our labor being OUR LABOR, without judgment, and that she would support us however we wanted. My husband was by my side during my whole labor because I could ask Laurie to do anything. She gave suggestions, rubbed my back, got my stuff, called my family and held my legs. And when my beautiful baby boy was born, she took the most amazing pictures. Thank you for all your support during my labor and the pictures which I will cherish forever."

"On the day of the birth, she rushed to the hospital and was there very early in the morning as soon as I called her. She stayed by my bed side and made sure I have the support that I needed: she held my hand and massaged my forehead so that I would go through the contractions easier. Whenever my husband would be too tired she would be right by me talking to me, explaining everything and holding my hand. The epidural, the c-section, the whole birthing process were the things I was dreading and they went so much easier with her by my side keeping me informed and helping me make the right decisions, making sure that I know the truth about everything that was going on. During the c-section, Laurie and my husband held my hand and made sure to encourage me every step of the way. It was an amazing experience!! Laurie took the best pictures of the baby. After, while my baby was in the NICU Laurie was there for us with good advice and made us feel a lot better and hopeful."
